May 13, 1953 ~ December 11, 2016

Leigh Ann McInnis, 63, of Madison and formerly of Miller, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Madison Regional Health in Madison.

Memorial service was held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 16, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church, Miller with Rev. Brian Jones officiating. Burial will be at G.A.R. Cemetery, Miller.

Leigh Ann was born May 13, 1953 to John and Peggy (Meeds) McInnis in Huron, South Dakota. She lived with her parents in Miller, attending special education classes through grade school. For two summers she attended special education classes in Vermillion before going to the Redfield State Hospital and school from 1968 to 1987. She then moved to Madison, South Dakota where she was a client of E.C.C.O.; having an apartment where she was happy living her life and making many friends.

Leigh Ann taught us all to live, laugh, and smile. But she was never afraid to tell you when she didn’t agree with something. She loved collecting stuff and enjoyed everything about Elvis memorabilia. Shopping for new clothes or buying gifts for family and friends or going to movies and dances with her friends were some of her favorites.

Leigh Ann was only supposed to live a few short years but she fooled everyone with her reliance and strength. She definitely was her daddy’s girl and her parents were very proud of all her accomplishments throughout her life.

Her memory will be cherished by her mother, Peggy; special family friends: Kevin and Lynn Watts family; Terry, Pamela, and Branden Sievers; and the Duane and Sal Resel family; and all her friends and staff members at Valiant Living in Madison.

Waiting in Heaven to greet her was her father, John; sister, Susan Kim; and her grandparents.

Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Leigh Ann's arrangements.

A Memorial Service was held on December 16, 2016 at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church, 321 West 1st Ave in Miller, South Dakota 57362
