Linda was born on February 9, 1949 in Pierre to Otho and Elfriede Buchholz. Linda graduated from Highmore High School in 1967 and attended Dakota State College to study education, earning her teacher’s certificate. In June of 1969, Linda married Jerry DuBois and began teaching in the fall at the Convent Country School in Hyde County. The following year she returned to assist on the family ranch south of Holabird. In addition and for over 20 years, Linda helped her parents operate the Holabird Texaco Station, Grocery and Post Office. Over the years, Linda enjoyed having her youngest brother, Marty, spend time with them on the ranch. In 1975, they were blessed with the addition of their daughter, Sarah. Linda and her family ranched together for over 40 years. In 2010, Linda moved to Sioux Falls to be closer to her daughter’s family. Jerry continued to split time between the ranch and Sioux Falls. With her whole heart and being, Linda assisted Sarah and her family with the raising of her grandchildren.
Over the course of her life, Linda was active in the 4-H Club, Hyde County School Board, United Methodist Church, SD CattleWomen’s Association and most recently was an active parent volunteer for her grandchildren at the All-City Elementary School in Sioux Falls.
Linda enjoyed bowling, the outdoors including camping and hiking in the Black Hills, taking care of her flowers and NFL football. Above all else, Linda loved and cherished the time she spent with her family especially her five grandchildren.
Linda is survived by her spouse, Jerry DuBois of Sioux Falls; her daughter, Sarah DuBois and husband Rob Hollan and their children Quinton, Braxton, Tenley, Hughston and Wynston, all of Sioux Falls; her siblings: Doris (Gary) Knox, Roger (Diane) Buchholz, and Marty (Nyla) Buchholz; sister-in-law, Evie Reints of Huron; mother-in-law, Roberta DuBois of Highmore; and numerous nieces and nephews.

All of my Sympathy. Folks raised around Holabird are likely some of the most kind, generous and friendly there have ever been. Linda was elite in that regard even among such a group. I sure enjoyed visiting with her and will miss her kind words and her great example of how to treat those around us. Take Care, DK
