Linda J. Axsom, 83, of Gettysburg, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Avera Missouri River Health Center, Gettysburg, SD.
Celebration of life will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Grace Bible Church, Gettysburg with Pastor Logan Nyquist presiding. Burial will follow in the Gettysburg Cemetery.
Linda JoAnne Bevers was born March 20, 1943, in Pierre, SD, to Eldon and Dorothy (Carr) Bevers. She grew up with a deeply compassionate heart, something that would define both her personal and professional life. On September 17, 1959, she married Jack Axsom, with whom she built her life. They were blessed with three sons, Jimmie, Terry, and Rodney.
Linda dedicated most of her life to caring for those in need as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in both the Gettysburg Hospital and Nursing Home. Her commitment to helping others did not end when her formal career did; even after she retired, Linda continued to selflessly care for family, friends, and neighbors.
Linda, being a firm believer in the Kingdom of Heaven, was an active participant in a variety of Grace Bible organizations, including Vespers and the Senior Saints.
Linda is survived by her three sons, Jimmie (Shelly) of Rock Rapids, IA, Terry of Gettysburg, SD, and Rodney (Carissa) of Sioux Falls, SD; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Pauline Bevers of Miller, SD; brother-in-law, Jim Axsom of Sioux Falls, SD; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; parents, Eldon and Dorothy; sister, Judith (Morgan) Brooke; brother, Jim Bevers; sisters-in-law: Dora Faye (Lawrence) Glodt and Jeanita Axsom.

So, so sorry for your loss
Our deepest sympathies to the Axsom and Bevers Families during the loss of dearest Aunt Linda.
She was a precious soul and light, the embodiment of grace, whom we will dearly miss.
Aunt Linda was an amazing woman. I was never fond of saying goodbyes, but she always had the right words to say to help me feel better about having to go back home. God bless and peace to you all as you celebrate her life!
