Lloyd Harmon

Lloyd Harmon, 92, of Cresbard, passed away, Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Sanford Medical Center, Aberdeen.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Cresbard United Methodist Church with Pastor Julie Nygaard officiating. Burial followed in the Cresbard Cemetery. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Lloyd was born April 3, 1920 at Chelsea, South Dakota to Harry and Clara (Hillberg) Harmon. He graduated from Northville High School in 1938. He attended the CC Camp in 1940 at Custer, South Dakota.

On November 23, 1940, Lloyd married Thelda Date at Miller, SD. They then established their lives, faming near Chelsea.

Lloyd enjoyed farming, being a private pilot, hunting, visiting and offering a helping hand to the surrounding neighbors, attending movies (his younger years) and an occasional fishing trip.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife Thelda on February 28, 2010; two sons: James on August 10, 1969 and Larry on January 25, 1975; and his parents.

Survivors include his son Dennis (Dennise) Harmon of Chelsea, SD; daughter, Marilyn (Tom) Niedjelski of Mantorville, MN; four grandchildren: Pat (Bob) Breeding, Mike (Amy) Harmon, NaLani (Rick) Dunsmore and Joel (Melanie) Niedjelski; five great grandchildren: Jordan Breeding, Alyssa Harmon, NaLea, Chase and Swayzee Dunsmore.
