Lorna Rose Brown Wolf was born October 7, 1986 to Sharon Swiftbird and Benjamin Brown Wolf. She attended Cheyenne Eagle Butte High School, graduating in 2005. Afterwards, she wandered aimlessly in this world until she met her darling husband, Miguel Esteban Portillo, and her son, Joah Reid. In 2008, Lorna and Miguel moved to Sioux Falls to start their life together. Their daughter, Emilia, was born November 9, 2008. The couple later married on April 30, 2011 in Pierre, SD.
Lorna loved music and sang and danced every day. She was in choir for eight years, and she won second place her first time singing in public at the Snow Queen talent show in 1996. She had a beautiful voice and loved singing karaoke. Music was a big part of her life, and she shared it with her daughter, Emilia Ann.
Lorna was the type of person who was always making jokes, pulling pranks, and making people laugh. She was very persuasive and encouraged people to try new things even if they did not want to do them. She was an amazing aunt to her nieces and nephews and took care of them as if they were her own. Lorna helped raise her niece Meredith and nephew Joshua and considered them to be more like her little sister and brother.
Lorna is survived by her loving husband, Miguel; daughter, Emilia Portillo; mother, Sharon Swiftbird; mother-in-law, Mable Tapio; father-in-law, Juan Portillo; sisters: April Swiftbird and Candace Swiftbird Stapley; hunka sisters: Ashlee Stankey, Kelli Mooney, Alicia Schlect and Erin Slides Off; brothers: Sam Swiftbird, Henry Brown Wolf, Jake Bird and Matt Stapley; and countless aunties, uncles, cousins (whom she considered her brothers and sisters), nieces and nephews, and other family and friends who loved her very much.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ben Brown Wolf; son, Joah Reid; paternal grandparents, Hattie Horne and Henry Brown Wolf; maternal grandparents, Genevieve and Nathan Swiftbird; great grandmother, Margaret Eagle Chasing; and cousins: Emmett Schad, Lester Peneaux, Jr. and Joseph Brown Wolf.
In lieu of flowers, please consider the needs of the family.
Luce Funeral Chapel of Eagle Butte has been entrusted with Lorna’s arrangements.

It's gonna be six years since you've died, soon. I'm going to be completely honest, I can't believe it's been that long, haha. It's hard living with my life without you, and Dad isn't really doing great either. I always wonder what you would think of me now that I'm in high school, and that I'm probably not what you expected I would turn out. But no matter how much I change, I will always love you, mom, and I'll always miss you too.
