Margaret M. Lewellen, 90, of Miller, died Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at the Miller Good Samaritan Center.

Funeral services were held at 10:00a.m., Friday, June 1, 2007 at the United Methodist Church, Miller, with Pastor Dave Andrews officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery, Miller, directed by Reck Funeral Home, Miller. Visitation was held from 3:00-7:00p.m., Thursday, May 31 with a 7:00p.m., prayer service at Reck Funeral Home in Miller.

Margaret Maude Palmer was born August 14, 1916 to Calvin and Blanche (Porter) Palmer in Hand County.

On September 26, 1934 she married Willard Lewellen. They made their home in Truman, Minnesota and also California, Oklahoma, and later South Dakota.

Margaret was an active member of the Methodist Church. She taught Sunday School and the Methodist Youth Group for many years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafts and many other activities.

She is survived by her three children: Ernest (Alona) Lewellen of Miller, Darla Welk of Miller, and Greg (Karen) Lewellen of Burnsville, MN; nine grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; three sisters: Una McKinney, Dorothy Manning, and Ida Moser; one brother: Bud (Shirley) Palmer and several nieces and nephews.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1983; two great grandchildren; four sisters: Stella Christenson, Ella Kuper, Merley Droppers, and Hazel Hancock, and eight brother-in-laws.

    Our deepest sympathy for the loss of your Mother and Grandmother– We will always remember all the great quilts she made- I got the baby quilts out to show the boys- they remembered using them and will get them when their kids are born (God willing they have some!)
