Marie Bellack, 87, of Faulkton, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2019 at the Faulkton Area Medical Center.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 27, 2019 at the United Church of Faulkton with Pastor Thomas Sumers presiding. Burial followed in the Oakland Cemetery, Seneca. Visitation was held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 26, 2019 at the church.
Marie Ida Payton was born March 30, 1932 in Seneca, SD to John and Minnie (Hirchert) Payton. She attended and graduated from Faulkton High School.
On August 22, 1952, Marie married Lloyd Marvin Bellack at Miles City, Montana. They lived in Germany for a couple years while Lloyd was stationed there during his military service. Upon his discharge, the couple returned to Seneca where they lived until 1958. They then moved to a farm east of Faulkton where they raised their family of five. In 2013 they moved into Faulkton.
Marie was a true homemaker. She loved to bake, cook and teach her children lessons on life. She taught them kindness, generosity, to accept and welcome all people, and to always find the positive in all situations and people. In her spare time, Marie enjoyed playing cards, working on puzzles and crafts, and making homemade Christmas decorations for her family.
Her life will be cherished by her husband of 67 years, Lloyd Bellack; her children: Margie Shantz, Lake Hills, TX, Ken (Michelle) Bellack, Gillette, WY, Don (Mickie) Bellack, Durant, OK, Ed (Donna) Bellack, North Vernon, IN, and Kathy Kennedy, Centennial, CO; 11 grandchildren: Justin (Jessica) Shantz, Heather (Clayton) Smith, Sarah (Matt) Peters, Jake (Sami) and Keith (Bri) Bellack, Luke (Kelligh) Bellack, Jessica Harris, Beau (Megan) Bellack, Ashley (Garrett) Pacheco, Kaitlin Kennedy and Ty Kennedy; 11 great grandchildren; one brother, Bob (Shirley) Payton, Rapid City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Virginia; and sister, Phyllis (Beryl) Reeves.
Luce Funeral Home of Faulkton has been entrusted with Marie’s arrangements.

She was a great woman. Big heart and would do anything for anyone. I remember our times together living close to each other and having our birthdays on the same day. I want to express my deepest empathy to the family. My prayers are will you all. I wish I could be there, but under circumstances out here I can't. Prayers to everyone and love you all.
