Mary E. Sargeant, 68, of Stephan, entered the spirit world on Monday, June 4, 2007 at her residence.

Funeral services were held 10:00a.m. Friday, June 8, 2007 at the Pomani Residence north of Fort Thompson with Lorenzo D. Shields, Sr. officiating. Burial was in the Lake View Cemetery in Fort Thompson, directed by Luze Funeral Home of Highmore. Wake services were held on Wednesday, June 6 at 4:00p.m. at the Sargeant Residence in Stephan with Everett Harrison and Rod Vaughn officiating and Thursday, June 7 at 5:00p.m. at the Pomani Residence in Fort Thompson.

Mary E. (Pomani) Sargeant was born December 9, 1938 to parents Buckley G. Pomani and Helen M. Plays with Iron. She loved animals, especially her dogs. She liked to bead, sew and quilt. In her younger years, she was known for her fancy shawls and gourd dancing. She was a special friend to many.

Mary was the oldest of ten children: Robert, Delbert, Magnues, Madeline, Gabrid, Sheila, Malerine, Leroy, and Kelsey.

She leaves behind one sister Melerine; one brother Leroy; one adopted daughter Jacklyn Stoneman; her husband James Sargeant; many nephews and nieces; and quite a few grandchildren.

She is now in the spirit world with her father; mother; sisters and brothers.

May she rest in peace.

Pallbearers will be Richard Coleman, Sr., Wilfred Keeble, Frank Pomani, Robert Merritt, Jr., Cleveland Never Misses a Shot, Tigh Cowan, Jeff Swansen, Job Cottingham, Peter Lengkeek, Dennis Bloomenrader, and Rich Paynter.

Honorary pallbearers will be all her many friends and relatives.
