Maxine Grace, 89, of Miller, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015 at the Avera Hand County Memorial Hospital, Miller.
Funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 27, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church, Miller with Pastor Mark Johnsen officiating. Burial followed at GAR Cemetery, Miller. Visitation was held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Reck Funeral Home, Miller.
Maxine was born August 31, 1925 at Archer, Nebraska to Thure and Ruth Anderson of Palmer, Nebraska. Maxine received her education at Palmer Public School and graduated in 1943. She attended Nebraska Wesleyan in Lincoln, Nebraska. She worked at the PMA office as the chief office clerk.
On October 15, 1950 she married Donald Grace at the Church of Chris in Palmer, Nebraska. In March of 1953 she and Don moved to Miller, SD where they farmed. In 1993 they retired to St. Lawrence, SD.
Maxine was a member of the First United Methodist Church, UMW, circle and choir. She was a member of the Eastern Star for 50 years. She loved her bridge and pitch club.
Maxine is survived by son: Curt Grace of Miller; daughter: Kelly (Michael) Podhradsky of White; grandchildren: Amber (Clay) Miller of Volga, Andy (Raine) Brand of Huron, Ashley Haigh of Aberdeen, Jacob and Hannah of White; and great grandson: Gage of Volga.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two grandchildren, Dustin and Shelby.
