Melvin Reinhardt, 89, of Miller, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at his home.
Funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 22, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Miller with Pastor David Peterson officiating. Burial followed at G.A.R. Cemetery, Miller. Visitation was held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, June 21, 2015 at Reck Funeral Home, Miller.
Melvin Eugene was born March 5, 1926 south of Rockham, SD to John and Ada (Johnson) Reinhardt. He attended school at Rainbow and Hand City Schools. He married Marie (Smith) Conerton on March 7, 1966. Melvin farmed and lived in Hand County his entire life. Caring for his animals was one of his greatest passions. He was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his sisters: Iris Grogan of Miller, Pearl Grogan of Centerville, and Lorraine Schweitzer of Waterloo, IA; brothers: Floyd Reinhardt of Miller, and Lyle Reinhardt of Hastings, MN; step children: Beverly Conerton of Minneapolis, MN and Verne Conerton of St. Paul, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parent; wife, Marie; and brothers: Ronald, Emerald, and Donald Reinhardt.
Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Melvin's arrangements.
