Norman Little Star, 71, of Red Scaffold, passed away Friday, May 2, 2014 at the Golden Living Center, Mobridge. 

Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 10, 2014 at the Community Building in Bridger. Burial followed at the Congregational Cemetery in Bridger. An all night wake began at 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 9, 2014 at the Community Building in Bridger. 

Norman Little Star was born September 15, 1942 at the Old Agency to William of Red Scaffold and Nellie (Eagle) Little Star of Wakpala, SD. He attended school at Red Scaffold Day School, graduating 8th grade. 

Norman went to work during the spring and summer at Newell, Sturgis, Vale and Belle Fourche areas. He made his home in Red Scaffold with the late Gloria Brings Horse until moving to the Mobridge Care Center. During his stay at the care center, Norman made beautiful, colorful medallions, each a design of his own imagination. No two were alike. 

Norman is survived by his daughter, Odeisa Little Star of Eagle Butte; his grandchildren: Talika Little Star, Ashley, Sterling and Kaitlyn Heideman, Angel, Jessica, Justin, Dustin, Christina, Jennifer, Randi, Kelby, Tacoma, Joseph, Athan, and many more; his nephews: Howard Little Star Jr., Travis Little Star Sr., and Sydney Little Star; his nieces: Mary Little and Cheri Little Star and a large number of extended nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents: William and Nellie Little Star; siblings: Alma Gatski, Howard Little Star Sr., Garland Little Star, Emery Little Star and an infant. 

Luce Funeral Chapel of Eagle Butte has been entrusted with Norman’s arrangements.

  1. MY SYMPATHY TO THE LITTLE STAR TIYOSPAYE, I HAVE MANY MEMORIES OF UNCLE NORMAN. HE GRACED US 71 YEARS OF HIS COWBOY LIFE.

  2. We were saddened to hear of Norman’s passing. We remember him dearly from years ago when he was a regular visitor to Faith. We dearly loved his parents and he was a good friend. Rest in Peace, Gordie and Kathy Collins.
