Olga Magdalena Olson, 84, of Aberdeen, died Saturday, July 19th, 2008 at Avera St. Luke?s Hospital in Aberdeen. Funeral service was 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 22nd at Trinity Lutheran Church in Miller. Visitation was hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Interment was at G.A.R. Cemetery in Miller. Rembold Funeral Home of St. Lawrence was entrusted with Olga?s arrangements.
Olga Magdalena Albrecht was born September 23, 1923 in Mound City, South Dakota to Phillip and Christina (Schaffer) Albrecht. She attended school in Selby.
In 1943 Olga married Casper Wortman at Selby, South Dakota. In 1950 they moved to Willow Lake. They bought and ran a pool hall for 13 years. Olga also helped paint buildings and dip sheep. Olga was a hard worker and always worked side by side with her husband. They enjoyed going to dances.
In 1968 they moved to Miller. Olga worked at the Prairie Good Samaritan Center for several years. After her husband?s death in 1982 Olga moved to Aberdeen.
In 1984 Olga married John Olson and they resided in Aberdeen. They loved to garden and take walks together. Due to health issues Olga went to Manor Care Heath Center in 2003 and resided there until her death. Olga was a member of the VFW and the Royal Neighbors of America.
Happy to have shared her life include her husband John Olson of Aberdeen; daughter JoAnn Hoffman of Aberdeen and her friend Tillman Hofer of Carpenter, SD; son Dan (Marge) Wortman of Mitchell; 6 grandchildren Julie (Doug) Larson of Aberdeen, Jill (Ryan) Mohr of Aberdeen, Jay Hoffman of Black Hawk, SD, Shawn (Kate) Behrens of Volga, SD, Darrell (April) Behrens of Brookings, SD, Angie Dennis of Florence, SD; 11 great-grandchildren; sister Edna Hochhalter of Miller.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Casper, 4 sisters, 4 brothers and 1 son-in-law.
