Peyton Red Elk, Jr.

Peyton Lawrence Red Elk Jr., stillborn infant, was born Sunday, October 7, 2012 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital to Terrain Sara Wolf and Peyton Red Elk of Eagle Butte.

Funeral services for Peyton will be at 11:00 A.M. MST, Monday, October 15, 2012, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Eagle Butte, with Mother Margaret Watson, Rev. Norman Blue Coat and Iva Traversie presiding. Burial will follow in the Green Grass Cemetery. An all night wake will be at 7:00p.m., Sunday, October 14, 2012 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Eagle Butte. There will be a procession from the 4 mile at 5:00p.m.

Peyton was the youngest of four children; his siblings are Treton Wyatt, Joshua Lane Cincere, and Peysyn Rayne.

Though we were not given the chance to know baby Peyton, he will be greatly missed by all who loved him very much.

Peyton is survived by his parents: Terrain Sara Wolf and Peyton L. Red Elk; brothers: Treton, Joshua, Peysyn; maternal grandparents: Charlotte Wolf, Carol Eagle Staff, Teddy and Roberta Running Wolf, Wesley and Doris Wolfe, Aaron Roberts and Mike Running Wolf; paternal grandparents: Richard Red Elk and Patricia Red Fox; aunties: Lynn (Alton) One Feather, Arlana Running Wolf and Brandon LaCroix, Jory Running Wolf, Ashley (Joe) Uses Knife, Amber Red Elk; uncles: Chauncey (Toni) Red Elk, Bennett Red Elk, Severt Red Elk; great grandmas: Margaret Eagle Staff, Katherine Eagle Staff, Delphine Red Fox, Beatrice Red Fox-Phillips, Margie Clown, Carol Ann Thompson, and Rose Bad Hand; great grandpas: Joe Milo Blue Coat and Norman Blue Coat.

Peyton was preceded in death by his sister: Emma Kapri Red Elk; paternal great-great grandmother: Alberta Blue Coat; great-great grandfathers:  Rex Red Bird, Steve Red Fox, C. Robert Hale, Roy Circle Bear, Elmer Traversie; grandmas: Harriet “Happi” Blue Coat, Barbara Blue Coat; grandpas:  Marvin Holy, Eldred Jay Red Fox and Oliver Brown Wolf; uncles: Joshua T. Guerrero and Corey Holy; auntie and cousin: Robin and Telleson Bad Male; maternal grandparents: Eva Roberts, Francis Running Wolf, Leonard Wolf; auntie Vanessa Wolf and uncle Francis Wolf.
