Phyliss Zuber

Phyliss J. Zuber, 82, of Gettysburg, passed away Friday, March 7, 2014 at the Avera Gettysburg Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Gettysburg with Pastor Daniel Tews officiating. Burial followed in the Pembroke Cemetery. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service.
Phyliss J. Hagny was born January 1, 1932 at home, rural Gorman, SD to Aaron Henry and Mabel (Warn) Hagny. She attended Warn Country School and Gettysburg High School.
On May 31, 1953 Phyliss was united in marriage to Willard Zuber at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Gettysburg. They lived on their rural Hoven family farm and raised their family. In 1991 they moved to Gettysburg and she lived in her home until 2011 when she entered the Avera Oahe Manor.
Phyliss was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Gettysburg and the Emmanuel Lutheran Mission Guild.
Her life will be cherished by her children: Mabe (Bill) Powers of White, Mary (Roger) Hatling of Pierre, John (Patty) Zuber of Gettysburg, Paul Zuber of Gettysburg and Fred (Christina Posey) Zuber of Trophy Club, TX; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one brother, Phil (Gladys) Hagny of Gettysburg; one sister, Alice Iversen of Rapid City; special friend, Christine Taleff of Hoven; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Phyliss was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 2002; brothers: Ezra and Aaron Hagny; and sisters: Irene Swanson, Rose Mink, Dorothy Genser and Gladys Leblow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are directed to Emmanuel Lutheran Mission Guild.
Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Phyliss’ arrangements. So sorry about your Mom, I know you all will miss her. She was a sweet lady. How lucky we all got to have our Mothers for so many years. God has blessed us all. .
