Robby Mader, 38, of Parade, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at his home.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. MDT, Saturday September 26, 2026, at the Cheyenne Eagle Butte Auditorium, Eagle Butte. Burial will follow in the Eagle Butte Cemetery.
Robert “Robby” H. Mader was born July 15, 1988, in Pierre, SD, to Robert “Robb” B. and Kathy Mader. Robby was the oldest of three children. He spent most of his childhood in Eagle Butte, SD, and his teenage years at the family ranch in Parade, SD.
Robby attended Eagle Butte Public Schools for his entire K-12 education and graduated with the Eagle Butte High School Class of 2007. After high school, Robby attended Mitchell Technical College on the Rapid City campus, where he earned an associate degree as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant.
After obtaining his degree, Robby moved back home and began working at C-EB Schools. Initially, he worked as a substitute teacher before transitioning to the position of Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLP-A) for the district, where he worked alongside his mother, Kathy.
In July 2018, Robby met his wife, Felicia. They dated for several years before getting married on Robby’s birthday, July 15, 2022.
Robby was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Eagle Butte, and he loved cats. Over the years, he cared for dozens of kittens and found homes for many of them if they did not stay at the ranch.
Robby had many different interests that evolved over the years. He was well known for his knowledge and understanding of technology and his ability to fix and maintain computers, laptops, phones, tablets, and other electronics without any formal training.
Robby was also an avid collector of music, books, and movies. He had an incredible ability to know where everything was or if someone had borrowed something from his “library” without saying anything. Robby loved going to thrift stores and yard sales and enjoyed finding a good deal on anything that might come in handy for any situation.
Robby loved spending time with his family and close friends. He made sure that everyone he cared for was taken care of and had what they needed, even if it meant giving someone the shirt off his back. Robby had one niece and one nephew whom he loved to brag about and spoil.
Robby is survived by his wife, Felicia of Parade; his parents, Robb and Kathy of Parade; brother, John of Parade; sister, Patricia of Minnesota; paternal grandmother, Lois of Rapid City; maternal grandmother, Mary of Ohio; great-aunt, Lu Beard of Rapid City; mother-in-law, Tina Ebert of Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Jessica McClaflin and family of Oklahoma; three uncles, Jerry (Della), Michael, and Lee (Shannon) Mader, all of New Underwood; and numerous cousins and close friends.
Robby was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Charles Mader; maternal grandfather, Bill Klemmans; aunt, Sharron Mader; and father-in-law, Richard Ebert.
Robby will be greatly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Black Hills Humane Society in Rapid City or the Masonic Lodge in Eagle Butte.
Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Robby’s arrangements.

personality was a gift of life. He was interesting to visit with. We could visit about the cat world in which we gave and received kittens over the years. On the flip side of the coin; he was a source for `fixing’

One of my fondest memories will always be sitting with Robbie in the school cafeteria at lunch time. Robbie had so much kindness and knowledge to give to the world.
