Robert “Bob” D. Hunt, 68, of Huron, passed away Monday, February 23, 2015 at the Avera Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 27, 2015 at the United Methodist Church, Cresbard. Burial followed in the Cresbard Cemetery. Visitation was from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday February 26, 2015 at Luce Funeral Home, Faulkton with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service.
Robert “Bob” Hunt was born on August 5, 1946 to Raymond and Gladys (White) Hunt of Cresbard in Aberdeen, SD. He attended school in Custer, Hot Springs, and Cresbard, and in 1965 he graduated from Cresbard High School. Bob also spent some time going to college in Aberdeen at Northern State University.
Bob married Rita Lynch on June 11, 1988 in Iroquois, SD.
Bob farmed and raised cattle for many years. After his farming career, he went on to work at the Developmental Center in Redfield for 20 years.
In his free time he enjoyed going to Minnesota to attend swim meets, baseball games, and softball games that his grandchildren were participating in. He also enjoyed time at the Bob Robinson farm watching the cattle and baby calves. Bob was a part of a birthday group, and he liked going out to dinner to celebrate birthdays as well.
Bob is survived by his wife, Rita Hunt of Huron; his step-daughter, Tami (Joe) Steichen of St. Michael, MN; his grandchildren: Mackenzi, Joseph, and Reagan Steichen of St. Michael, MN; his aunts and uncles: Lareve (Delmer) Deiter of Faulkton, Duane (Maxine) White of Faulkton, Raymond (Jan) White of Virginia, and Marvin (Donna) White of Rapid City; his brother-in-laws: Bill Lynch of Pierre and Jim (Sandy) Lynch of Iroquois; his sister-in-law, Mary Lynch of Pierre; his niece, Emily (Jim) Hanna of Aberdeen; his nephews: Brian (Zoe) Lynch of Rogers, MN, Jeffrey (Maggie) Lynch of Apple Valley, MN, and Douglas (Elizabeth) Lynch of Sioux Falls; his goddaughter, Samantha Schilling of Aberdeen; five great nieces; three great nephews; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Gladys Hunt; his uncle, Eldon Hunt; and his cousins: Marsha White and Lonnie Hunt.
Luce Funeral Home of Faulkton has been entrusted with Bob’s arrangements.




My condolences to Rita and the family worked with Bob and Rita for years, did lawn work and other various outside summer jobs for Bob and Rita, always was a joy to be around them. Merlin Werner
