Ronnie was born on September 29, 1953, in Venus, Nebraska to Gene Duane Weinrich and Sarah Agnes (Wellman) Weinrich. From a very young age he was heavily involved with the farm and trucking business. If he wasn’t driving tractor or semi, he was with his uncle, learning all he could about horses. His heart was with horses, and he secretly wanted to be a cowboy instead of a farm boy. When Ron reached school age he attended country school outside of Plainview, Nebraska and graduated from Plainview High School in 1971. At this point in his life, the most important things were football, wrestling, baseball, his mother, and cars.

That all changed in February 1972 when he met the love of his life, Deborah Hegge. They were married in Crofton, Nebraska on August 11, 1973. He started working for Common Wealth Electric and was located in Lincoln, Nebraska, and then Paducah, Kentucky. After waiting 5 short years of wedded bliss, they added Marie Ann to the family on July 4, 1978. Shortly after this addition, they moved back to Nebraska where they spent a short stint in Crofton and then moved to the family homestead outside of Plainview. They added Thomas Lee on April 8, 1983, Holly Rose on December 8, 1986, and Jessie David on January 29, 1989. Once their family was complete, they decided to move north to South Dakota, where they stayed.

While living in Scotland, South Dakota Ron started working for Schwan’s Home Delivery for 20 plus years. Schwan’s also brought them to their forever hometown of Faulkton, SD. After he left Schwan’s, he worked for a few short-term jobs but returned to his roots after taking a position with Farms Elevator in Onaka, South Dakota. He retired at the ripe old age of 65 from Agtegra feed and seed store in Ipswich, South Dakota.

While enjoying his retirement Ron took on the hobby of woodworking. He started out with big dreams of making a baby crib which he put blood, sweat, and cuss words into creating with the help of his youngest son. After finishing this endeavor, he decided to try his hand out on making baby blocks, farm hay bales, and holders. These projects continued until a year before his passing. When Ron wasn’t in his shop mowing his lawn, he was harassing his wife and loving his grandkids. If you ever had the chance to ask him, he would always say that his Debbie was keeping him in line and his 7 grandkids were keeping him on his toes. These people were his greatest loves along with Nebraska Husker’s sports, God, music, and all baked goods.

Ronnie is survived by his loving wife Debbie; his children: Marie Weinrich of Cresbard, SD, Thomas (Michelle) Weinrich of Sioux Falls, SD, Holly (Jason) Demery of Faulkton, SD, Jesse (Alora) Weinrich of Aberdeen, SD; and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Bonnie Kumm, Colleen Fanta, and Jolene Lengfelder, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, Gene and Sarah; his in-laws, Elmer and Joan Hegge; and his brother, Lonnie Weinrich.

Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Ron’s arrangements.
