Theresa Bach, 78, of Faulkton, passed away, Sunday, September 12, 2010 at the Faulkton Healthcare Center.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 16, 2010 at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Faulkton with Fr. Joji Itukulapati officiating. Burial followed at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery. The rosary was prayed at 10:30 a.m., Thursday prior to the funeral service.
Theresa Mary Ann Frasier was born July 5, 1932 to Walter and Madeline (Lenhoff) Frasier at Faulkton, South Dakota. She grew up in the Faulkton area, graduating in 1951 from Orient High School.
Theresa met Eugene Fuhrmann and was married on January 7, 1953 in Faulkton. To this union they had two children: Thomas in 1953 and Deanna in 1958. Nine months later Eugene was killed in a farm accident on December 15, 1958. A year later, she married Frank Bach on November 9, 1960 in Faulkton.
While at home the family went to Iowa, Missouri, and the Black Hills visiting relatives. As the years went by, when the children were older, the family traveled much of the South Dakota Badlands, Black Hills, almost all of the State Parks and Mt. Rushmore. Later on when it was just Theresa and Frank, they traveled to many different locations.
When Theresa married Frank, Frank was in the contracting business with his father. Theresa started to do the reception and bookkeeping for the business. Through many years of building moves, name changes, the Bach’s business became known as Community T.V. and Appliance. This business was closed in 2000. During the 1980’s Theresa cooperated a stop and shop with Gladys Myers which they operated. In 1984 the building across from the lumberyard was bought and was their location until closing in 2006. The ladies had 22 years of helping the community with a simple store but were helpful to everyone in need.
With all of this Theresa still enjoyed reading and working on her hobby, the Stop and Shop.
Theresa’s life will be cherished by her husband: Frank of Faulkton; two children: Thomas (Sheila) Fuhrmann of Ulysses, KS and Deanna (Greg) Juelfs of Buffalo, SD; nine grandchildren: Tamara Lisle, Laura (Clinton) Bolton, Sharla (Brian) Loucks, Nathan (Kerri) Juelfs, Anson (Kristine) Juelfs, Loren (Jennifer) Juelfs, Edward Juelfs and fiancé Rachel Frank, Ben Juelfs, and Helen Juelfs; 17 great grandchildren; three siblings: Bernice Cuppy of Faulkton, Eugene (Cherry) Frasier of Faulkton and Carol (Clayton) Fink of Zell and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Eugene and four siblings, an infant boy, Richard, Donald and Joyce.
Luce Funeral Home of Faulkton has been entrusted with Theresa's arrangements.
