Virginia “Jeanie” Hannum, 72, of St. Lawrence, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015 at her home after a lengthy illness.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Virginia K. Verdugt was born January 23, 1943 at the Hand County Memorial Hospital in Miller, SD to Leonard and Zona (Ford) Verdugt. She attended country school in York Township and later at Miller and St. Lawrence High School.
On July 17, 1968, she married Butch Hannum and they made their home in California.
She is survived by her sons: Brandon, Chance, and twins, Sage and Shambra, all of California; three grandchildren; sisters: Joanne (Frank) Lockner of Miller, Kay (Don) Boynton of Covington, OK, and Sharon (Ron) Hammill of St. Lawrence.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one nephew, Jeremy Gortmaker.
Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Jeanie’s arrangements.

I will miss those wonderful telephone calls from Jeanie where we traveled down memory lane the last 8 or 9 years since she started to call me to visit with her. All of her pain is gone now and may she rest in peace……Her friend, Gary.

I’m gonna miss my Mom 2 feathers!!! She was an amazing and loving mother to all her children and myself as my adopted mother!!! Love you forever mom!!!❤❤❤❤❤
